The Net Zero House Conference was one of our most well-attended and successful events with around 50 attendees. Feedback from our visitors was entirely positive. Speakers from all over the country presented some very in-depth and current information for our professional audience. Topics included case studies, the Cascadia Center and an alternative approach. Recap: Grand Opening on 11/10

The mediocre weather couldn’t hold back a spectacular event! German Consul General Roland Herrmann, Mayor’s Office Chief Development Officer Andy F. Icken and GACC South VP Jan Christoph Wiedemann opened the event with introductory speeches and a ribbon cutting ceremony at Das Haus.

Nearly 90 industry professionals from the green scene of Houston, GACC members and academics were in attendance in order to tour the pavilion and network with one another. Thanks to the Houston Permitting Center staff, technical expert Meredith Marsh and everyone else involved in making the Grand Opening an event worth attending.

Today is the last day for our travelling pavilion in Houston. If you haven’t visited yet, use this nice day with amazing sunshine to check out how the solar panels work and how well insulated the “living container” is. We are happy to announce an event with our partner ASHRAE on 11/11 @ 11:30 AM. You will have the chance to hear Keith Reihl talk about the Energy Code and where it is going to. We will have a 2nd speaker which has yet to be announced.

Between the 2 presentations you will have the opportunity to network with the speakers and other professionals over lunch. Following the presentations there will be a Guided Tour of the Pavilion during which all of your questions can be answered.

This half-day conference will bring together speakers from the renewables and energy efficiency industry, the political realm and academia to highlight topics surrounding technology, policy and design in green building. Beginning after the 8:30 AM registration, four speakers will each present the most up-to-date information available. After the presentations there will be the opportunity to attend a nearby networking luncheon including a guided tour of the pavilion around 12:00 PM.
